Do we need to be reminded why the Lions traded the overweight and underachieving Shaun Rogers? Just in case you do, Mlive’s Highlight Reel directs us to this report from yesterday’s Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers made the trip to New Jersey for tonight’s game against the New York Giants on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” but is inactive for the game.
Rogers, the Browns’ biggest off-season acquisition, suffered from general soreness in several places last week, including a knee. It caused him to miss three practices, including the last two before tonight’s game.
You’re kidding. Really? Rogers’ knee is sore? Big Baby can’t play or practice because of “general soreness?” I never, ever would have seen that coming. Never! //Al rolls eyes//
Put it down, Shaun! That’s NOT a Twinkie!
Considering a low cal meal for Rogers is having a 2 liter Diet Coke with his box of Twinkies, I’m not surprised. His weight is, and always will be, an issue. Talented or not, your surgically repaired knees won’t hold up when you are playing NFL nose tackle while weighing as much as a Ford Pinto.
I loved to see Rogers wreak havoc on the opposition’s o-line as a Lion. But I won’t miss seeing him constantly sucking oxygen on the sidelines because he’s too out of shape to be effective for more than a handful of plays a game.
When he decided he loved pizza more than sacking QB’s, it became obvious Rogers will never be a dominant force over an entire season. He just doesn’t give a shit.
