Housekeeping: Lions, Tigers and a new forum!
With baseball season starting, I have to admit I was a tad preoccupied with the Detroit Tigers the past few days. Then again, what team would you rather write about? The team doing everything humanly possible to bring home a world title, or the Lions? (Uh…that was a rhetorical question! I do love the Lions, but they frustrate me to no God damn end!)
Between doing a week long Tigers preview at TWFE, appearing on The Detroit Tigers Podcast (Though I was able to pimp SLR, thank you very much Mike!), and attending opening day, the Lions have been on the back burner.
Well…save for the my latest post ripping Matt Millen. To be honest, those are ALWAYS fun to write! Hell, they damn near write themselves! But I digress…
We’re still a good 3 weeks away from the NFL draft, and though we don’t know how the Lions plan on screwing up this year, there’s plenty to talk about in regard to the Lions. Bill Ford Jr. spoke for his father, the senile and doddering William Clay Ford, in a media Q & A. The porn ’stached goon had a few things to say as well. Expect my thoughts on the latest Lions news quite soon.
Even though the Lions are treading water till the draft, there’s a ton going on in Detroit sports right now. From the Pistons and Red Wings prepping themselves for long playoff runs, the return of Wings fan favorite Darren McCarty, the Pistons shutting down their starters and the Tigers beginning what is hopefully a very successful season (Bullpen be damned, it’s World Series or BUST!), and the Lions making news at the owners meetings, it’s amazing how much there is to talk about regarding the Detroit sports scene.
Which beings me to the latest feature at SideLion Report, the forums! As you see at the top of the page, there’s a direct link to the SideLion Report forums.
So stop on in, please say hello, and do feel free to vent your frustrations regarding the Fords, the porn ’stached goon, Rod Marinelli and his nepotism influenced staff, the latest botched trade, wrong-headed free agent signing, or draft pick bust. You know, the usual…
I’ll be popping in quite often, so if there’s something you’d like to say, or would like me to be aware of, just leave a post in the forums. I’d love them to become a hotbed of discussion of all things Detroit Lions.
