Shaun Rogers is still a Lion? Apparently, yes
At Mlive tonight, Lions beat writer Killer Kowalski is reporting the Rogers trade is in “limbo.” Doing a little on-line poking around, I found a report from Fox Sports NFL writer Alex Marvez, who claims the trade is still being “negotiated.” According to Sports Illustrated and the Detroit News, their reports say “the deal appears to be dormant.”
All this has me wondering, did the Lions renege on the trade? Do they have a better offer? It appears the answers are yes and yes. The Lions are talking to other teams, and may have found a better offer than the Bengals’ 3rd and 5th round draft picks.
Considering the tarnished reputation of Millen and the Lions, we shouldn’t be surprised there is some sort of hang-up in consummating the trade. Something else to also keep in mind is in approximately 2 hours, Rogers will be owed a $1 million roster bonus. The clock is ticking…
No matter what ends up going down, these last second shenanigans has Matt Millen and the Lions coming off as a Mickey Mouse organization.
Oh, that Matt Moron is soooo shrewd. He outwaited Mike Shanahan. The Donkeys dumped both Javon Walker and Ian Gold. Now Matt Moron can sign them both and not give up The Large One. The down side of this is that now Matt still has a first and second round pick to screw up. Just two days ago Matt Mustache was saying he needed at least a 2nd rounder for The Large One. What happened to that? Of course his record with first and second round picks is no better than his record with third through fifth round picks. Please stop. And tell Dr. Huxtable that going to his house and shooting Matt Moron will work as long as Matt is also in charge of the investigation.
